Gorillaz, England’s sensational multi genre artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion!

Gorillaz was created in Essex (England) in 1998 by Damon Albarn (musician, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer) and Jamie Hewlett (comic book artist, designer, and director). It’s a virtual band made up of 4 animated members; 2-D (lead vocals, keyboards), Murdoc Niccals (bass guitar and vocals), Noodle (guitar, keyboards) and Russel Hobbs (drums and percussion). Their musical style is best described as a blend of alternative rock, electronica (an umbrella term that encompasses a broad group of electronic based styles such as techno, house, ambient, drum and bass, jungle, and industrial dance, among others), trip hop (a subgenre of electronic music that originated in the early 1990s in the United Kingdom, as an experimental variant of breakbeat), and alternative hip hop (a style that encompasses the wide range of hip hop styles that aren’t mainstream and draws from funk and rock, as well as jazz, soul, country, electronic, and even folk music). They’ve had a stellar career with 4 studio albums, 3 compilation albums, 3 video albums, 15 music videos, 1 remix album, 2 extended plays, and 16 singles. They’ve received many accolades including a Grammy Award (for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals). Their latest album (Humanz) comes out in April 2017.

Don’t miss your chance to see these artists add a unique touch to alternative rock, electronica, trip hop, and alternative hip hop!
