The Moody Blues, England’s sensational progressive rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion!

The band was formed in Birmingham (England) in 1964 by Graeme Edge (drums, percussion, vocals), Ray Thomas (flute, percussion, harmonica, vocals), Mike Pinder (keyboards, vocals Denny Laine (guitar, vocals), and Clint Warwick (bass, vocals). Their musical style is best described as a blend of progressive rock (a broad subgenre of rock music that grew out of psychedelic bands who abandoned standard traditions in favour of instrumentation and compositional techniques more frequently associated with jazz, folk or classical music), art rock (a subgenre of rock music that generally reflects a challenging or avant-garde approach to rock, and is often distinguished by the use of electronic effects and easy listening textures far removed from the propulsive rhythms of early rock), psychedelic rock, pop rock, and symphonic rock. The band’s been through many line up changes over the years and currently consists of Graeme, Justin Hayward (guitar, vocals), and John Lodge (bass, guitar, vocals). They’ve had a stellar career with 16 studio albums, 6 live albums, 24 compilation albums, 3 video albums, 36 singles, and they’ve sold over 70 million records worldwide. They’ve received many accolades including a Billboard Video of the Year Award and they’re the first band in history to earn each of its first three top 10 singles in a different decade.
